Mock telephone interviews

Testimonials

If you are looking for a more personal contact, our telephone mock interview may be for you. During the phone interview you will be expected to answer typical fire department interview questions. Questions will be one or all of the following types, traditional, behavioral, situational or technical. The candidate will send a copy of their resume to info@firefighterinterviews.com prior to the interview for the interviewer to review. Following the interview, you will receive a critique filled with valuable tips and tools on how to polish your performance.

The candidate may tailor their interview to suit their needs. A candidate may have information from the department they are applying to that may state the type of interview involved. For example, some progressive departments will post on their web site the style of interview, “ 5 behavioral questions and 3 situational questions”. The candidate may have information from past interviews that may be appropriate to use in their phone interview. For example, the previous year the fire department board asked questions involving stress, teamwork and customer service. The candidate would send this information 2 days prior to their scheduled interview to info@firefighterinterviews.com to allow the interviewer to prepare for the phone interview.

Depending on the interviewee, the interview could last anywhere from 20 minutes to 30 minutes. The remainder of the time would be spent on the critique. The critique is the most important portion of the interview. The interviewer will give advice and guidance on what was an appropriate or what was not an appropriate answer. Also, the interviewer will advise on how to enhance an answer given. This part of the interview will be the most critical to the candidate in their path to interview success.

To book your interview, please schedule yourself into an available time slot using the on-line Telephone Interview Scheduler. It will show you dates and times of availability.
